I work with a number of higher education organisations and I was at a university in Warwickshire this week. During discussions around mental health support for undergraduates, one of the PhD students suddenly admitted that they felt totally isolated in their work and studies. They felt that undergraduate and masters students are prioritised by ‘overburdened university counselling services’ and that a more specific type of help and support was needed for PhD students, given their specific set of circumstances.
